Faculty possess a bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Data Science, or a related field and/or hold industry-recognized technology certifications with documented professional experience in software development, information technology, or technical training.
Information Technology Foundations is a 90-clock-hour accelerated workforce training program designed to prepare individuals for entry-level careers in software development, information technology support, web development, cybersecurity, networking, artificial intelligence, databases, automation, and data analytics. The program combines self-paced online learning, live virtual instructor support, interactive coding laboratories, portfolio development, career coaching, and certification preparation to develop practical technology skills aligned with current employer needs. Students gain hands-on experience using industry-standard tools including Python, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, GitHub, databases, AI productivity tools, and collaborative software development platforms. The curriculum prepares students for stackable industry-recognized IT Specialist certifications while developing professional portfolios, workplace communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and technical competencies needed for employment in Indiana's growing technology workforce.
Applicants should possess basic computer literacy and internet navigation skills. No previous programming or information technology experience is required. The program is designed for beginners, career changers, incumbent workers, and individuals seeking entry-level technology careers through flexible online instruction.
