Program Description:

Emerge Learning Institute’s comprehensive 16-Week Pharmacy Technician Training and CertificationProgram prepares students to take the Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) and earn theirCertified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credentials. During the 16-Week program, students receive training through instructor-led classes supplemented withdigital interactive content. Some of the subjects included in the training program are Top 200 Drugs (brand, generic, and indication), drug and medical terminology, pharmacy calculations, sterile and nonsterile compounding, the dispensing process, basic pharmacology, anatomy and physiology, Federal Privacy requirements, infection control, wellness promotion, unit dose systems and medication repackaging.We also provide career exploration and enrichment references and resources to our students. From continuing education (CE) opportunities, resume writing, career interviewing preparation to cultural competency training and networking, students complete our program prepared to ignite their career.

51.0805 Pharmacy Technician/Assistant A program that prepares individuals, under the supervision of pharmacists, to prepare medications, provide medications and related assistance to patients, and manage pharmacy clinical and business operations. Includes instruction in medical and pharmaceutical terminology, principles of pharmacology and pharmaceutics, drug identification, pharmacy laboratory procedures, prescription interpretation, patient communication and education, safety procedures, record-keeping, measurement and testing techniques, pharmacy business operations, prescription preparation, logistics and dispensing operations, and applicable standards and regulations.

Prerequisites Description:

18 years of age or older **High School Diploma or G.E.D. Valid State or Government Issued Photo ID No criminal background**If student does not have a high school diploma or GED, they must submit proof from the School (this can be in the form of a letter) and submit documentation that they are actively pursuing a high school diploma or GED.
