AWS - CWI, CWE or practical experience of not less than two years in the major area they are assigned to teach and professional licensure or industry-recognized certification in the field.
This course provides students with instruction in intermediate gas metal arc welding processes. This course includes microwire, flux-core, inner shield and submerged arc with emphasis on inert gas welding. It includes all techniques of welding in all positions on various thicknesses of metal. Course instruction will include: constant voltage and wire feed welding processes; welding with hard wire using short circuit and spray method welding; flux-core tubular wires; aluminum spray.Students will be instructed in welding safety, potential welding hazards and the necessity of proper PPE.
