The instructor possesses the education, professional credentials, industry experience, and instructional qualifications necessary to deliver emergency medical services education and related technical instruction. The instructor meets all applicable federal, state, and Registered Apprenticeship requirements and has demonstrated expertise in emergency medical care, patient assessment, trauma management, and professional practice.

Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements established by the Registered Apprenticeship Standards. The apprenticeship offers multiple entry pathways. Individuals who do not possess an EMT credential may complete the required education and training as part of the apprenticeship. Individuals who already possess a current EMT credential may be eligible to receive credit for prior learning in accordance with the Registered Apprenticeship Standards. All applicants must satisfy applicable employer and apprenticeship requirements prior to participation.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year, based on apprenticeship opportunities, employer availability, and participant eligibility. There is no fixed annual application deadline.
