Carpentry gives students hands-on experience building the structures that shape our world. They learn framing, finishing, and construction techniques while developing problem-solving and technical skills. Students also gain an understanding of safety, tools, and project planning. This pathway prepares students for careers in construction and the skilled trades. Students are encouraged to start in grade 10 and will complete three courses: Principles of Construction Trades, General Carpentry, and Framing and Finishing.
Most students start the pathway during their 10th or 11th grade year.
