Program faculty possess commercial driving industry experience and may hold active Commercial Driver's Licenses (CDL), transportation safety certifications, instructor qualifications, or related industry-recognized credentials relevant to CDL training and commercial vehicle operation.
The Commercial Driver's License (CDL) program prepares students for entry-level careers within the transportation, logistics, freight, and commercial driving industries. Training includes ELDT theory instruction, pre-trip inspection procedures, backing maneuvers, road driving, safety compliance, vehicle operation, and CDL skills test preparation aligned with workforce needs throughout Indiana and the national transportation sector.
Applicants must possess a valid driver's license, meet applicable age requirements, and demonstrate the ability to safely participate in commercial driver training activities. High school diploma or GED credentials are encouraged for long-term career advancement opportunities but are not required for enrollment in this program.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year based on enrollment availability and scheduled cohort start dates.
