Description

Our program faculty meet the minimum instructor qualifications required by FMCSA for ELDT Class B training providers.

Our instructors hold a valid CDL of the same or higher class for the commercial motor vehicle used for training, with any required endorsements needed to operate that vehicle. Our instructors also have either at least two years of experience operating a commercial motor vehicle requiring the same or higher class CDL, or at least two years of experience serving as a behind-the-wheel commercial motor vehicle instructor.

Faculty providing behind-the-wheel instruction meet FMCSA’s Behind-the-Wheel Instructor requirements, and faculty providing classroom or theory instruction meet FMCSA’s Theory Instructor requirements. These standards align with the minimum federal instructor qualifications under 49 CFR 380.605 and 49 CFR 380.713.

Dellstar VR’s ELDT Class B Training Program prepares students to complete the required Entry Level Driver Training for individuals pursuing a Class B Commercial Driver’s License. The program is designed for students seeking to operate Class B commercial motor vehicles and follows FMCSA training requirements for Class B CDL applicants.

The program is delivered in 8 week cohorts and focuses on the knowledge, safety practices, vehicle operation standards, and driver responsibilities required for Class B CDL training. Students must have a valid driver’s license prior to enrollment and complete the required training components before moving forward in the CDL testing process.

This program provides a direct training pathway for individuals seeking Class B CDL employment opportunities in Indiana’s transportation and commercial driving workforce.

Applicants are required to have a valid driver’s license prior to enrollment in the program.

The program is designed for individuals seeking to complete the required Entry-Level Driver Training for a Class B Commercial Driver’s License. No prior commercial driving experience is required to enter the program. Students should be prepared to meet all applicable state and federal requirements connected to the Class B CDL process, including any licensing, permit, medical, testing, or endorsement requirements that may apply to their intended CDL pathway.

The program provides the required ELDT Class B training needed before a student may complete the applicable CDL skills testing process. Final CDL issuance remains subject to the student meeting all applicable Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles and FMCSA requirements.

Applications are due two weeks prior to the start date of each cohort.

Cohorts are offered in 8-week sessions, and each application deadline is based on the scheduled start date for that specific cohort. This allows time to review applications, confirm eligibility, complete enrollment steps, and prepare students for the upcoming training session.
