Description

Program faculty are licensed healthcare professionals, Registered Nurses (RNs), in good standing with the State of Indiana. Faculty possess relevant clinical experience in medication administration and long-term care and meet all Indiana State Department of Health requirements for QMA instruction.

The Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) Training Program is a short-term, state-aligned healthcare training designed for Certified Nurse Aides (CNAs) seeking to expand their scope of responsibility within long-term care and assisted living environments. The program provides focused instruction on safe medication administration, basic pharmacology, infection control, documentation standards, and Indiana regulatory requirements.

Participants complete classroom instruction combined with supervised skills practice to develop competency in administering medications under the supervision of licensed nursing staff. The program prepares individuals to sit for the Indiana State Department of Health QMA certification exam and supports rapid transition into in-demand QMA roles. Offered in bi-monthly cohorts, the program is structured to accommodate working adults while supporting career advancement within Indiana’s healthcare workforce.
