INAEYC will be providing the instructor for the CDA portion of the class, while McDowell Education Center will provide the adult education instructor. During the course, students will be creating a professional portfolio which will be taken into consideration when being approved for certification. At the end of the course, the students will complete a final CDA assessment process in a timely manner. This process will include a CDA exam which will be taken at a Pearson VUE testing site as well as an on-site visit with a PD Specialist. The PD Specialist will be secured through the Council for Professional Recognition.
This final ROR visit (Review, Observe, and Reflect) and the final exam are required to obtain the CDA credential through the Council for Professional Recognition. The CDA credential is a requirement for child care providers working in a licensed childcare program in the state of Indiana. For this program, all of the students are currently employed in a licensed early childhood program. Since they are currently working, they will be able to accumulate the needed 480 hours of experience during the course which is also a requirement set by the Council for Professional Recognition.
They have to be employees of Early Childhood Education Agency.
