Instructors must have the required education and experience to appropriately teach the program content. Examples of education and experience include, but are not limited to, certificates and/or degrees from postsecondary institutions; certifications from industry-recognized agencies, and practical work experience in, or in a field closely related to, the career fields the program prepares students to enter. MedCerts confirms each instructor’s academic background and work experience to ensure they are qualified to teach in the program.

This program prepares students to gain industry certification and ultimately work with patients in hospitals, clinics, physician's offices, and other healthcare facilities.  Topics include human anatomy and medical terminology, phlebotomy, and professionalism in allied health.  Program objectives include gaining knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes, and anatomy and physiology, become familiar with the role of the phlebotomist in healthcare settings, appreciate the role of HIPAA, OSHA, COLA, and CLIA-waived testing, and grasp the importance of customer service, communication skills and professionalism. This program is powered by MedCerts.
