The Medical Scribe Professional program is a comprehensive program designed to equip students with the requisite knowledge and skills needed to gain AMSP certification and ultimately employment as a Medical Scribe. Training in the program is centered around instructor-led videos as the primary means of instruction. The program objectives include discussing the roles and responsibilities of a Medical Scribe as part of the healthcare team, complying with relevant law and ethics, the Omnibus Rule, HIPAA, and HITECH, demonstrating electronic health record documentation as applicable, and explaining how medical coding play a role and impacts the clinic workflow and revenue cycle. This program is powered by MedCerts. Â
The program prepares students to take the AMSP certification (Apprentice Medical Scribe Professional Certification) from the American Healthcare Documentation Professionals Group.
