All program faculty are required to complete the course prior to instructing. Additionally, all instructors have passed the Indiana CCHW certification test. All instructors have a minimum of a high school diploma.
Opioid Basics for CHW’s 20+ hours online course/testing All online with support from ASPIN instructors. Some of the topics covered: The Opioid Epidemic, Opioid Treatment Options, Addictions Overview-Co-occuring Disorders and Recovery, The CCHW Role in Medication Assisted Treatment and Naloxone, Working with referrals, the role of peer support, Wellness Recovery Action Plan Overview, Helping Consumers with Treatment Plans and Recovery,The Scope of Work for CCHWs, Home Visits, and Stackable Credentials and the Career Ladder.
Eligibility Criteria: Must be at least 18 years old.Must have at least a high school diploma or GED. Students must have a personal email address (a computer and internet access is required).
The course is online, so there is no application deadline. There is rolling admission.
